David Samperio

My name is David Anthony Samperio and I was born and raised in San Pedro, with 3 older brothers, to parents that migrated from Mexico. 

I have been married to Gina (Alvarado) Samperio since 2012, and we have 4 children, Isabella and Alessandra from my 1st marriage, and Destiny and Francisco, who God sent to us through adoption. We also have a granddaughter, Maria Rose.

I attended Barton Hill Elementary, Dana Junior High, San Pedro High, El Camino College and San Jose State.

I have been on the docks as an ILWU longshoreman since 1998 (casual), full time since 2006 (class B member) and a proud A book member since January of 2012. 

For the last 6 years or so, I have been serving Local 13 in various positions in addition to serving as on of the leaders for the ILWU Iron Sharpens Iron Fellowship for 5 years.

My family has been attending Destiny Church in Long Beach, led by Pastors Obed and Lissette Martinez, for approximately 5 years.

I give all Glory to my Heavenly Father God for His grace and mercy through Christ Jesus and thankful for His Holy Spirit for His protection, guidance and countless blessings and favor in my life.
