JOEY FUENTES

Hello, my name is Joey Fuentes and I was born February 11, 1978 in East LA California. I grew up in the City of South Gate California where I spent my childhood and early teen years. I grew up to a gangbanger roaming the streets causing havoc everywhere I went. I was lost in the world thinking I was invincible, not having a care in the world but all along God was with me protecting me for what he had planned for me. 

I have a wife of two years her name is Christina Garcia and we have a son together named Joseph Daniel Fuentes who is 9 years old. She has 3 other kids but only one of her kids lives with us and calls me dad, he is 13 years old and his name is Abraham Melara. I live in the City of Downey, California with my family. We have four dogs so it's a very busy household. I went to various schools bouncing around being a knucklehead but eventually getting my GED in the end. I'm a family man, always have been and always will be. I work hard and am dedicated to being the best person I can be for those around me. I try to lead by example and try to leave behind a great legacy through my kids. I also have a daughter from a previous relationship her name is Karina Raelene Fuentes she is 26 years old and lives with her mom in Apple Valley. She has 3 beautiful kids, yes, my grandkids. I'm a grandpa, Kayden, my grandson 4 years old, Kaylia, my granddaughter 3 years old and Kaylani, my grand daughter 2 years old. I'm a very blessed man to have such a beautiful family in my life. 

I too am a Longshoreman ID, I got registered in May of 202,  #136972. I spent almost 15 years as a casual before becoming full time. I am honored and so blessed to be apart of the leadership team of Iron Sharpens Iron Fellowship, to know the others and to be part of something that's awesome. I thank them for seeing something in me I didn't and having the trust and faith in me when all I wanted was to be a laborer for God. I've always had God in my heart and believed in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior but never gave him his Glory until really now. He has taken the ugliness in my heart and turned it into a garden softening my heart and making me stronger and better man of God. I am so blessed to be one with my family and one with my other family which is ISI Fellowship.
