My name is Kevin Salaiz and I was born and raised in Long Beach, California, with 1 sister. I have 1 older brother, 2 older sisters and 1 younger sister from my Father’s side. I have been married to Teresa (Espinoza) Salaiz since 2023, and we have 4 sons collectively. Kevin and Christian are from my 1st marriage, along with Christopher and Xzavier who God gifted me through marriage to Teresa. We have 3 grandchildren that we love and pray for continuously (Sofia, Bella, Jayden).
I attended Jane Addams Elementary, Stanford Junior High, Lakewood High, some community college and Cottonwood School of Ministry. I worked 18 years in Healthcare (business side), 8 years for 2 major airlines. Along the way I’ve worked as a Casual Longshoreman since 1998 and registered as a Class B Longshoreman in 2021.
Things I have passion for: being a husband, father, coaching youth football (10+ years), serving Local 13 as a Mentor to young men who enter our great union because of the passing of a mother or father Longshoreman. For the last 2+ years, I have served on the Leadership Team for ILWU Iron Sharpens Iron Fellowship. My family attends Cottonwood Church in Los Alamitos where I currently serve in the Men’s Community as well on the Cottonwood Security Team.
I am extremely thankful for every opportunity the Lord provides me with to be salt and light wherever I go. He has shown me how to continue praising Him through every circumstance and situation during tragic, bad, good or great. Without Jesus in my life I am nothing, but by choosing Him to be part of it….ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE through Him who strengthens me.
